Easy chair GILDA CM Blue-Grey / Canaletto Walnut ZANOTTA

Designed in 1953 by Turin architect and designer Carlo Mollino for the furnishing of Casa Pomella, then reissued by Zanotta, the pre-owned Gilda armchair is an iconic piece of 20th-century Italian design. It perfectly embodies its creator's eclectic style, always seeking the right balance between ergonomics, comfort and expressive form. Its shaped and sculpted solid wood frame is available in natural oak, black varnished oak or natural Canaletto walnut, with a wax-finished varnish that reveals the warmth and grain of the wood. A single element joins the legs to the armrest, shaped like a leaf and wide enough to hold a book or a pair of glasses. Conceived as a lounge chair, the pre-owned Gilda features a backrest adjustable to four positions, operated by black-nickel satin-finished brass hardware that subtly underlines the attention to detail. Its padding in polyurethane and heat-bound polyester fibre, set on steel spring suspension, offers seating that is both supportive and enveloping. Its fabric or leather cover is fully removable, for easy care and personalisation over time. In a living room, reading corner or study, it brings a sculptural presence and timeless charm. Each piece is produced under exclusive licence granted by the Italian State, which holds the rights to Carlo Mollino's work, carrying forward the legacy of a design master within the world of Zanotta.
